Delayed reaction but still Yatta!

Was watching VS Arashi last night, and when I saw the guests I said OH NO! Might be a another Loss in the boards for the boys. But things looked up from the start. They had a new game. It was a giant pachinco? on a conveyor belt/treadmill kind of machinery. You walk up the treadmill to catch the balls falling with a giant basket. Riida was first to try the game. He looked so cute, and Matsumoto was not much help in guiding him get the giants ball. But he did well in this game. Felt bad for Riida, he looked tired after it. The guests did even better....so the story continue. Must say the boys in their PUMA shirts looked so good. Jun more so!

Second game was the Coin Tower and SHOAIBA had the honors. And in a blink of an eye, the boys lost. AIBA did the honors. THe look on the others' faces said it all. But the silver lining came during the Pipe game. The MDA got very lucky today. 200 pts! Way to go, he looked so proud. Riida got 10 pts. And the clincher, NINOMIYA (who did not play and was not too active today, probably was not feeling well on the day they taped this show) he looked so smug when he got the guest good. It was so funny seeing his reaction. So in the end, ARASHI won today. 3 wins so far...let's aim for 7 or 8 okay! I really enjoy this show very entertaining but then anything ARASHI I love. Btw, been noticing (could be I just did not watch last week) but there were a couple of fan boys in the audience. Either they are fan boys or they are just there to accompany somebody. I want to believe my first theory. It's more Sugoi that way.

Something OT: Wu Chun is in the Philippines promoting Romatic Princess saw the coverage in TFC. Now makes me want to imagine what if Jun/ Arashi would go to the Philippines to promote. I would so go! Calvin Chen (another member of Fahrenheit) was with him. I am impressed, since they lived abroad, they spoke really very good English no need for interpreters. And Ricky Lo had a good article on them on Philstar.

Spent my afternoon watching. I was on pins and needles. Was worried for my team, since Germany started strong. But in the first half....Fernando Torres scored a goal. Yes....Game was on....1-0. It would turn out to be the only goal scored in the game. But there were a lot of almost goals in the game. And after everything.....SPAIN won EURO 08! 44 years of non achievement down the drain. So happy for them. Iker Casillas was as good as GOLD. Goal Keeper rocks!

VIENNA, Austria (AP)—A championship 44 years in the waiting is worth a special celebration.

Spain made sure it didn’t disappoint any of its fans Sunday night, both during its 1-0 victory over Germany to win the European Championship, and after it.

Fernando Torres scored in the 33rd minute and the Spaniards never backed down against such a formidable opponent. Their last significant title came in the 1964 Euros at home.

“It is to me the most important day in Spanish football in many, many years,” Torres said.

Against the highly accomplished Germans, the Spaniards weren’t intimidated. They got the one goal they needed—from a slumping striker, no less—and set off chants of “ES-PANA!” and “Ole, Ole Ole!” at the final whistle.

The entire Spanish squad ran over to the huge rooting section of red and gold, exchanging hugs, while many of the spent Germans collapsed to the turf.

A

When Spain goalkeeper and captain Iker Casillas accepted the trophy on a stage, the Spanish fans began chanting the melody to their national anthem, which has no words. Thousands of camera flashes went off as the players jumped in place, then headed onto the field to show off their prize.

The Spaniards weren’t close to finished with their celebration that was so long in the making. They marched to their rooting section, hoisting the cup and saluting their flag-waving, firecracker-exploding fans.

“We have won in a brilliant way,” coach Luis Aragones said. “We will be able to start saying we can win, a European championship as well as any other thing.”

In beating a team that makes a habit of appearing in championship finals, the Spaniards put to rest a reputation for underachieving. Always loaded with talented players, Spain has spent four decades falling short of expectations.

That all changed at these Euros, where the Spaniards swept their first-round games, eliminated World Cup champion Italy in a penalty-kicks shootout in the quarterfinals, then routed Russia 3-0 in the semifinals.

“We played the best for the entire tournament and we beat some great teams,” Torres said. “We beat Italy, the World Cup champion, and we beat Russia and now Germany. That is how you become champion.”

Germany has won three Euros and three World Cups, but was no match in this final. Captain Michael Ballack, questionable before the game with a calf injury, started, but hardly was noticeable—except when he left for several minutes to have a bloody right eye treated.

“We had a great tournament, but made one mistake too many,” Ballack said. “We were lacking of power against a great Spanish team. We couldn’t keep up with them.”

Torres, who had 33 goals for Liverpool this season but has been invisible in Euros, came through off a brilliant feed from Xavi Hernandez.

Germany goalkeeper Jens Lehmann, at 38 the oldest player in the competition, charged from his net when he saw that defender Philipp Lahm was beaten on the right side. But Torres chipped the ball over the sliding Lehmann and into the gaping goal.

The crowd of 51,428 at Ernst Happel Stadium, split almost equally between Germany and Spain, might have expected the Spaniards to go into a protective shell. Instead, and even without leading scorer David Villa (leg injury), they continued to carry the attack and were far more dangerous than Germany the rest of the way.

Spain's Sergio Ramos, Cesc Fabregas and Xabi Alonso, from right, celebrate after the Euro 2008 final between Germany and Spain in the Ernst-Happel stadium in Vienna, Austria, Sunday, July 29, 2008, the last day of the European Soccer Championships in Austria and Switzerland. Spain defeated Germany 1-0.

AP - Jun 29, 6:28 pm EDT

Indeed, Lehmann, who helped the Germans to third place in the 2006 World Cup, kept it close with several tough saves.

This was the last game for 69-year-old Aragones, the oldest coach to win the Euros.

“The most important thing about our team, perhaps, is the manager,” Torres said. “He has confidence in us and he lets us play. We have brought him the championship in his last game for Spain and we are very happy we could make this history for him and for us.”

Germany’s Joachim Loew has a contract through the 2010 World Cup, but will need to find the spark Germany showed only periodically in Austria and Switzerland.

“Spain played very well during the whole tournament. and they were technically excellent,” Loew said. “They fully deserve victory.”

A crowd of about 68,000 packed Vienna’s downtown fan zone to watch the final, police said. In Germany, flags fluttered from balconies and car antennas across the country. In Berlin, an estimated 400,000 fans watched the game on large outdoor screens.

Spain has never made a World Cup final and was in one other Euros final, aside from the 1964 triumph. That was a loss to France in 1984.

Otherwise, there had been nothing but disappointment and early exits from big tournaments. Two years ago, the Spaniards were dynamic in the opening round in Germany, then fizzled against France.

With two of the world’s top clubs, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, the nation has tons of talent. What it has lacked is fortitude.

No one can say that anymore.

the fun continues in channel rock

The Hanadan Final stage greetings was featured in Channel Rock. I only saw the end part. But right after Ohno was on promoting Maou . Plus we get the continuation of the Arashi interview (the one they did for HNA promo) They answer a bunch of questions using the YES and NO stick. The fun part was having Arashi go against a young sumo wrestler. Sho was the referee and AIba went first. It was funny, he got thrown a lot. Poor Aiba, hope he did not get hurt. Next was Ninomiya. Pretty good he stayed on the mat for 5 seconds. And the best one of all, Riida...he stayed for 8 seconds. It was fun seeing Arashi get thrown around the mat.

Riida's interview with the two co hosts came next. He looks nervous like a little boy. But the role he plays is very stoic yet deadly. Watched the Maou preview. Riida looks really scary, it's the silent stare that gets you. And Toma( so proud for him) is holding his own in this one. Can't wait for the drama to start. I love these days, seems like there is promo every moment. Truly fun times to be an Arashi fangirl. I tell you..... Riida was on the show for a long time! So happy for him! Nakai better take note, Riida is working very hard these days.

Ohmiya love in the end....as end credits roll. Riida mentions that NInomiya is the first episode member guest participant. I tell you they really support each other's projects. So nice to see. Member rabu is alive and well.

Arashi and Hanadan so in heart!

Tonight was the Hanadan SP. I was so looking forward to this one. Arashi will perform the medley for Hanadan. The first part of the special was just the Hanadan story recap . The second part is priceless. Domyouji was on TV singing with Arashi. I love it.Can this part be made longer. I wanted the moment to last forever. And when the Hanadan cast joined them on stage. It was fun! So the L sign is for LOVE. I want to re watch this show over and over. I love it. And Jun/Domyouji was doing a Nakai on Riida. This is truly a memorable appearance. Good luck to Hanadan Final it will start showing already. I want to watch the movie! Hopefully, there will be a way SOON!

And Mao and Kaede are in the show following this special . They were bonding in Honey's Coming! THe HNA ratings were UP , it was a very funny episode. They should keep it in mind. Off to look for uploads...I want those shows! Thanks TBS!

It's a good TV night in Japan

Tonight was a good night in TBS, you start off with a song number from Arashi in Utaban. They did One Love. NIce performance, I like it better than the MS version. And an Arashi guesting in the show. Nakai was promising to be good I think. But once Riida and Nakai get together it's a combustible combination. They fight as always. But the Jimusho stylist did Arashi proud today. They looked hottie good! They lost the game. They sang Arashi as consequence. Nakai kept interrupting them. He was energy and spirit in the performance. Fun! Nino-chan showed his card trick at the start. And they did some usual gags, the black eye on the binoculars one. And it seems Arashi portion just got cut? to me because it was suddenly another guest next.

But the episode to watch is today's HNA. It was so funny! Cute , funny. The Ageha portion made me snooze. Nino and Aiba hosted the program today. But was only waiting for the Hanadan date. From start to finish it was funny. Domyouji  laughing a lot. Mao came to stop the date, but fangirl was in fighting form. Domyouji I think picked the other girl so Makino was left to walk off but she was lurking in the sides to see what will happen in the date. They ate, fangirl made bento lunchbox for Domyouji. She woke up at 5 am to make it. She was so excited when he said it was delish. She even asked if she can video tape him while eating the food. SHe was so happy after taking the video . Nino and AIba were directing the action BTS. I want to know what their comments were, sounds funny to me. They also went horseback riding. Domyouji showing the skills he learned for his other movie. When it was fan girl's turn it was fun, coz she was scared of horses but she gamely did it. The fun part came when she tried to dismount. SHe did not put her foot in proper place she fell from the horse. I am sure that hurt. Domyouji helped her up. Then they went for bowling. While in the bowling alley, Mao and Daddy Makino came, so they were challenged. Bowling competition, but it ended up it's Mao and JUn with Daddy Makino n fangirl as pairings in the game. Mao was okay in bowling she had two strikes. BUt Daddy Makino I think is a pro he was good. POor Jun, first try, it went to the gutter. But you can see he was competitive he tried his best. But it seems these games are not for him. He is just so unlucky with games (remember VS Arashi he is MDA most of the episodes).  Mao and Jun lost by 3 points 112-115.  And the prize was Jun will kiss the hand of fan girl. SHe was so happy, she shrieked for joy.  So date was winding down, it was night they were back in the water front where they started the date. Nishida comes and give bad news. Makino was kidnapped. They come to her rescue. She was kidnapped by two circus comedy stars? it ends up fangirl will die helping to save Makino. THe dying scene was so funny. Even Domyouji could not keep in character.

This episode was so funny. I love it. I want to rewatch it , for the reason that aside from Hanadan love. I want to see all the details I missed. THe dying scenes was not complete, signal suddenly stopped. I hate it when that happens. Now off to enjoy the rest of the day....
